Evidence-based therapy for the way your mind and body really work
Care that understands the way you think, feel, and move through the world. Neurodivergent-affirming, research-grounded therapy for ADHD, OCD, and trauma in Boulder and across Colorado.
Is This the Right Place for You?
You might find Arnica’s approach a good fit if you…
- Live with ADHD, ASD, OCD, trauma, anxiety or patterns of overwhelm that feel hard to navigate alone.
- Are neurodivergent—or wondering if you might be, and want support that works with your brain, not against it.
- “Know a lot” about yourself, yet still feel stuck, looping, or unsure how to move forward.
- Want therapy that feels collaborative, evidence-based, and rooted in real tools, not just more talking.
- Are longing for a space where your intensity, sensitivity, creativity, or complexity is welcomed.
Evidence-based, not just talk
You get tools that actually help, not years of talking in circles
Neurodivergent-affirming & informed by lived experience
Non-pathologizing, strength-based, nervous-system-aware.
Brave work at a sustainable pace
Therapy that stretches your window of tolerance without overwhelming your system.
Clarity, skills, and long-term stability
Focus on change that lasts, not quick fixes.
Therapy Designed For You
Masking is exhausting, and often harmful. Many neurodivergent adults have spent years feeling misunderstood or pressured to fit a version of themselves that doesn’t feel true. I want this to feel different.
My office is a place where you don’t have to hide parts of yourself. You can move, stim, pause, look away, or take breaks, fidget, whatever your nervous system needs to stay grounded and engaged.
This is a space that listens closely to how your mind and nervous system naturally work and builds support around that, not in spite of it.

What Therapy Here Feels Like
Therapy here focuses on understanding your nervous system and the ways it has learned to protect you, even when those patterns now feel heavy or limiting. We work gently with those protective parts, not against them, building emotional regulation skills without shame and creating practical strategies you can use outside of sessions.
The pace is intentionally steady. We don’t rush. We don’t push for “breakthroughs.” We move in a way that supports sustainable change, grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for your history, your lived experience, and your capacity.
Meet Jen McNaughton, LCSW
Hi, I’m Jen. I’m glad you’re here. As someone with lived experience of neurodivergence, I know how confusing and overwhelming it can feel when your nervous system responds before you’ve had a chance to make sense of it. That is why my practice is grounded in a neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed approach that honors the different ways people process the world.
In therapy, I blend evidence-based modalities, like IFS, EMDR, ERP, and somatic awareness, with collaborative, curiosity-driven conversations that help you understand your patterns without shame. My goal is to create a space where you can release old fears, build practical regulation skills, and reconnect with a sense of steadiness and agency.
I welcome people of all identities and lived experiences, and I aim to hold a space that feels warm, clear, and deeply respectful of the full complexity you carry.

Spending 15–20 minutes in a free consultation is a simple way to get a sense of how it feels to talk together and whether the approach resonates. It’s your time to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see if this space feels right for you.
